*Note Monday 9/21, Honored to have Guest Artist, Abbie Rooney teaching special class that is 30 min longer: 645-815pm (1.5hrs). Small additional fee that pays for her extra time & will be paid the night of class if you are present. She is an incredible aerial artist full of experience & exuberance for aerial. Highly recommend!

CLASS DESCRIPTION:
INSTRUCTOR APPROVAL REQUIRED. A class for experienced aerial dancers who have been in the program for a minimum 1-2yrs. Reach out to understand if this class is correct for you.
Ongoing curriculum in Aerial Silks, Contemporary Dance Skills, Sequencing, and Aerial Arts explorations. Build skills, confidence, coordination, and technique from ground to air. We play with intermediate/advanced skills, climbs, sequencing, choreography, and transitions in the air. Students learn phrases and then explore how to make them their own! Students train with safety and intelligence all season. Excited to have some amazing guest teaching artists this session.
Occasionally, Dancers from this group have the opportunity to share work at various community events and ongoing projects if they are interested in performance. Prerequisites: hip key both sides, clean straddle ups, catchers wrap, S wrap, 3 inverts in a row, ability to stay in air for 3min.
What to wear & bring: Please wear clothing that allows your body to move freely. Be prepared to move in bare feet. The backs of the knees, waist, and armpits should be covered to avoid silks burns. Slick leggings can be challenging due to slippery material on silks. Please bring a water bottle and a healthy snack to each class. It’s hard work!
